Not sure about the writer, felt that he had a issue with Lord Byron and let it color his writing. Don''t know if all he said is true. But he said that he was going to write on Byron's poetry and his genius and stay away for Lord Byron's personal life and rumors, but he didn't. I don't think that his memories of Lord Byron are accurately portrayed. Felt uneasy about what he said. I wouldn't recommend this for anyone who want a factual record of Lord Byron's life.Product details

The Life Of Lord Byron John Galt 9781276768269 Books Reviews
The print is good and there is a table of contents with links to chapters.
Another biography which I think is very competent and pleasant is Edna O Brien's Byron in Love.
Lord Byron is an inspired but tragically flawed man. There are few character fictional or genuine who are as fascinating. His immorality will not perturb a sensitive and noble readership and his genius can only improve good people.
Everything is a paradox in life.
John Galt was a failed poet, and a bitter man, who was sick with jealousy whenever he saw Byron or anyone praised him. This book betrays his own bitterness and bias.
I was excited to see the appealing cover and thought that this was a new bio of Byran. I bought it for my school library. However I should have read the detail and seen it was a photocopy of a book written in 1830. There is no index for the students to use. Once you open the appealing cover, the photocopied print is difficult and unappealing to read. A bad buy on my part.
I bought this item as a gift and was upset to discover that the last 25 pages were blank and that there was no publisher's page or footnotes. Was this book a misprint? I wanted an recent biography of Lord Byron for a friend who is seriously interested in the subject. Not a good choice on my part.
great, loved it. I found it very interesting. but I like to know about the authors of the books I read.
A very complete biography of a complex genius who lived a life fuller than most do, in his thirty six years.
This book contains information about Byron's life, generally only in connection with how this author thinks it affected his work - a really easy way to find yourself making stupid statements based on incomplete information and your own bias. The author is not kind either, stating Byron seemed to lack any truly deep feeling or passion. My bias says any man who wrote like that and was mad, bad, and dangerous to know was not lacking in passion; or if he was, he kept up such a ruckus one would neither notice, nor care.
